Module Aims: Equally as important as set construction, is the dressing of a set. Explore furniture, fabrics and interior design. Look at the differences between hi end design and consumer product design and production. With referance to the script, examine the character of the person living in that set or location. How their character influences the look of the set. Investigate traditional prop making as well as advanced scanning and 3D printing. Working with Set decorators and Prop buyers.

 

Practical Tasks: Research into period or designer specific dressings for the set. Look into the character of the person living in the set and produce sketches and other reference material to reflect how they are portrayed in the film or Television programme. Produce a "look book" for the set decorator to work to and understand the prop hiring process. Create a Dressing Prop list. Arrange visits to existing Prop Hire companies.
